Projects

So, were did all the experience come from? Here is a small selection of some of the more recent projects I have been involved in.

Software distribution solution for Nokia

Nokia needed a next-generation implementation of their current internal software distribution solution, and I participated in the design, development, planning and operation of the project, which is now designated ‘mission critical’. The solution was built using Ruby on Rails and featured (among other things) an interactive user interface and a REST API. I helped the team implement and use agile development techniques and participated in solution design, architectural planning, and coding. As a Ruby on Rails developer, I worked mainly on the user interface and the REST API. I developed a number of native C extensions to Ruby running on both Linux and Mac OS X and developed a tool for parallel deployment using Capistrano. August 2008 – Current.

Ruby on Rails, REST, MySQL, ProgreSQL, Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, Subversion, Ajax, Prototype, Scriptaculous, Scrum, Linux, Mac OS X, C.

Print Solution for Letpension

Letpension is building a brand new Pension business from the ground up, including a new IT infrastructure. I participated in the design and development of a print solution for Letpension’s SOA platform. The solution was built on a IBM WebSphere platform and consisted of a web service which generated PDF or HTML documents based on complex business objects. I helped design the web service and later implement in Java. I also developed a web based test application which allowed Letpension to perform extensive validation and acceptance testing long before the rest of the SOA architecture was in place. July 2007 – August 2008.

JEE, WebSphere, Hibernate, Spring, Scriptacolous, Prototype, JavaScript, XHTML, CSS, Ajax, SOA.

Social Networking Site

In a joint venture with Heureka Data, I developed a social networking site (never launched). The site was developed using Ruby on Rails and MySQL. I was the primary developer of the site’s user interface. April 2007 – July 2008.

Ruby on Rails, Scriptaculous, Prototype, JavaScript, XHTML, CSS, Ajax, MySQL.

XPortal for Nykredit

I participated in the development of the third installment of Nykredit’s XPortal, a web-based real-estate lending application. The system was built on a BEA WebLogic foundation and my role was to design and develop two main areas of the application. All coding was done in Java and JavaScript. April 2006 – April 2007.

JEE, BEA WebLogic, Netui, JSP, XML, web services, JavaScript, HTML, Ajax, Axis, XML Beans

Web based GPS tracking of vehicles for Copenhagen Airports

I was responsible for developing a web based GPS tracking and situation display application for used internally at Copenhagen Airports. The web application used Ajax to request current position of the tracked vehicles and update their position on an interactive map in the browser. April 2005 – April 2007.

Java 2 5.0, JEE, Spring, Tapestry, Scriptaculous, Prototype, JavaScript, XML, DHTML, Ajax, Tomcat, GPS

Web based data entry and reporting for Copenhagen Airports

I led the development of a fairly comprehensive data entry and reporting application for use in Copenhagen Airport’s security performance management. The finished application featured advanced charting capabilities, Excel compatible reports, rights-management, and a web service interface for automated data entry. April 2005 – April 2007.
